This program is a seminar designed to teach students how to avoid becoming victims of crime. The seminar includes a brief overview of the Department of Public Safety, with emphasis on the Campus Escort Service, and other emergency services available at the University. Please contact Captain Grant Williams at 443-1898 for more information.
Annually, members of the Department of Public Safety conduct comprehensive security surveys of all buildings located on campus property. The purpose of this survey is to identify security risks and hazards present in the buildings. After studying the buildings, the surveyors recommend compensatory measures to eliminate hazards.
The TIPS telephone line is a service available to members of the community. The TIPS line allows members to call an anonymous telephone line to leave tips that may assist the department in preventing or solving crimes or disorder problems on campus. The TIPS line is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Calling parties may leave their names if they want someone to contact them regarding the complaint.
