Notification of a Sexual Assault

WHEN: Wednesday, 7/26/06 at 12:28PM

WHERE: 300 block of Stratford Avenue

HOW: As a graduate student walked eastbound on Stratford Avenue an unknown male accosted her. The male passed her, said hello, and then attacked her from behind pulling her into an empty residential garage. The victim was struck and subjected to a forcible sexual assault. The student was able to later break free and flee the scene. The victim was treated at an area hospital for injuries sustained during the assualt.

Victim described the suspect as: Male, black, muscular build, early 20's, 5'5" tall, weighing approximately 170, last seen wearing: a white t-shirt, blue jean pants, and a white cap. The suspect was last seen running in a northwesterly direction from the intersection of Ostrom and Euclid Avenues.
