Notification of an Armed Robbery

March 10, 2006 (Date Issued: 3/11/06; DPS #2006-00009781 / SPD #2006-170043)

WHEN: Friday, 3/10/06 at approximately 11:40 p.m.

WHERE: 900 block of Ackerman Avenue

HOW: Several students were socializing on the front porch of a house in that block when two unknown males walked up on the porch uninvited. One of the males then took a bottle of liquor and asked the victims if they had any money. Upon being told no, suspect #1 displayed a small handgun and then put the weapon back in his hoodie pocket. Suspect #1 was then given a small amount of cash and a pack of cigarettes. Suspects were last seen running west on Stratford St. Syracuse Police Department and Syracuse University Department of Public Safety responded to the scene. The immediate surrounding areas were searched for the suspects with negative results. There were no injuries.

Description of suspect #1: male; black; 18 to 20 yrs. of age; approximately 5’10” tall, medium build, clean shaven, short black hair, wearing a dark hoodie w/ hood up, and blue jeans with swirls of orange and blue paint on them.

Description of suspect #2: male; black; 18 to 20 yrs. of age; 5’ 9” tall, medium build, wearing a tan hoodie.
