Notification of an Armed Robbery

December 3, 2005 (Date Issued: 12/03/05; DPS #2005-41448 / SPD #2005-472210)

WHEN: Saturday, 12/3/05, approximately 8:15 pm

WHERE: 900 block of Comstock Avenue near Oakwood Cemetery

HOW: As a student walked north, two males approached him on foot from behind, demanded money, and displayed a handgun. When the victim said he had none, the suspects took his cell phone and ran south on Comstock. The victim was not hurt. DPS and SPD searched the area with negative results.

Description of suspect #1: male; black; 15-17 yrs old; approx. 6'5" tall; thin build; dark complexion; wore yellow bandana on head, dark (possibly green) hooded sweatshirt, & dark jeans

Description of suspect #2: male; black; 15-17 yrs old; approx. 5'8" tall; medium build; dark complexion; wore dark knit cap, dark sweatshirt (without hood), & dark jeans; had black handgun.

DPS and SPD have assigned extra staff/patrols in the East Neighborhood area and will collaborate until these crimes are solved. All leads will be diligently pursued. In addition, the public safety departments of in the University Hill area proactively patrol and share information.
