Annual DPS Awards Ceremony Honors Officers, SU Community Members at Drumlins
The Department of Public Safety honored 11 of its employees and three SU community members at its annual awards ceremony. These awards honored the exceptional acheivements of DPS staff during the 2011 calendar year, and also acknowledged three civilians who contributed to campus and community safety efforts. Read More
Two DPS Officers, SU Student Honored at Annual Chiefs of Police Awards
Officer John Bingham and Officer Kevin Haley will be honored tonight at the annual Central New York Association of Chiefs of Police Awards Ceremony. Officer Bingham will receive a Law Enforcement Commendation Award, Officer Haley will be presented with a Heroic Action Award for his response to a South Campus fire in March 2011. Jessica Wilkerson, a SU senior, will be one of three civilians at the ceremony, and will be presented with the Citizen Commendation Award, for her actions during an in-progress crime at Haven Hall. DPS Begins Health & Wellness Initiative
The Department of Public Safety has established a new internal committee on health and wellness. In the coming months, department members will be encouraged to attend various speakers on topics from strength training to nutrition on the go. Monthly run/walks will also be scheduled, all leading up to the annual administration of the police officer physical fitness test in December.
